Senior Dance Events Editor
I help adults find their rhythm — and their community
For 14 years, I've been building spaces where people 45+ can discover bachata, salsa, and genuine social connections across Prague and the Czech Republic. No judgment. No intimidation. Just real dancing with real people.
How It Started
From curious observer to community builder
I wasn't always a dance events specialist. Back in 2010, I worked in corporate event planning — conferences, product launches, the usual stuff. It paid well but felt hollow. Then one evening, a friend dragged me to a bachata night at a small studio near Vinohrady.
I was terrified. I couldn't dance. Everyone else looked like they knew what they were doing. But the instructor was patient, the music was infectious, and by the end of the night I'd had more genuine conversations than I'd had at a dozen corporate functions. That night changed everything.
By 2013, I'd left corporate work and founded Prague's first dedicated 45+ salsa meetup group. We started with 12 people in a cramped studio. Within three years, we'd grown to over 300 regular participants. That's when I realized — there's a massive hunger for this. Adults want to dance, learn, connect. They just need to find the right environment.
I studied Event Management at the Prague University of Economics and Business, and those foundations helped. But the real education came from the dance floor itself. I attended advanced certifications in Spain and Dominican Republic. I worked with instructors from Prague's best studios. I learned what makes beginners feel welcome, what keeps people coming back, and how to build genuine community rather than just filling seats.
Today, I've organized over 200 social dance gatherings across the Czech Republic. And I'm still discovering new things about this world — about what draws people to dance, about how the right music and the right people can transform an ordinary evening into something memorable.
What I Do
Deep knowledge across the dance community
After 14 years building dance events and communities, I've developed real expertise in what works — and what doesn't.
Bachata Events & Culture
I've attended and organized bachata nights across Prague, Madrid, and Santo Domingo. I understand the music, the technique, and the sensuality that draws people to this dance. More importantly, I know how to create spaces where beginners feel welcome without compromising authenticity.
Salsa Communities & Meetups
Salsa is my first love. I've built three separate 45+ salsa groups across Prague, each with distinct character and energy. I know how to find quality instructors, select venues, and create the rhythm that keeps people engaged month after month.
Beginner-Friendly Programming
The biggest barrier to adult dance isn't ability — it's confidence. I've developed approaches that welcome complete beginners, build their skills progressively, and help them feel part of the community from night one. No judgment. No ego.
Czech Republic Dance Landscape
I've mapped the social dance scene across Prague, Brno, Ostrava, and beyond. I know which studios are inclusive, which instructors are patient with adults, where the energy is real, and how the scene differs from city to city.
Event Strategy & Curation
Running successful dance events isn't about throwing parties. It's about understanding your audience, selecting the right music, timing, instructor, and creating an experience that builds momentum. I've tested every variable across 200+ events.
Writing & Documentation
As Senior Dance Events Editor at holvera s.r.o., I create comprehensive guides that actually help people. No fluff. Just practical, authentic advice for finding communities, understanding dance basics, and navigating the adult dance world.
My Approach
What I believe in
Authenticity over perfection
You don't need to be good at dancing to belong. You just need to show up. The best dance events I've built aren't about flawless technique — they're about genuine people connecting through music and movement. Perfection is boring. Real is magnetic.
Community first, hierarchy second
I've seen too many dance spaces become exclusive — where beginners are made to feel like they don't belong. That's wrong. The strongest communities I've built are the ones where a beginner feels as valued as someone who's been dancing for years. Everyone's welcome. Everyone matters.
Age is irrelevant
Adults 45+ aren't "beginners" or "older dancers" — they're just people who want to dance. I've seen 65-year-olds with more rhythm and presence than people half their age. Age doesn't determine your capacity to learn, connect, or shine on the dance floor.
Quality guides, not gatekeeping
My job is to demystify social dancing for adults. I write guides that actually answer your questions — where to find events, how to handle being nervous, what bachata really is, how salsa works. No jargon. No pretense. Just information that helps you take the first step.
